just finished watching the women's table tennis between singapore and china. should i say that the results are already expected? nevertheless, i had a glimpse of hope on them winning a gold when feng tianwei won the very first match of singles. lik what kow said, its obvious that fengtianwei was much more mentally composed than li jiawei. and sad to say, we lost all three games to china and i guess they are really informidable. their attacking speed was really awesome and im really amazed by it. China really deserves to win la, afterall their players are all world champions.. what more can we ask for when we have alr gotten a silver? so yea, congrats to SINGAPORE 48years in history, we finally got a silver, and made Singapore one of the highlights in the world.

Although we had won, but the players in table tennis team are all from China. and ppl are complaining that we arent winning it beautifully since the players were not local. i mean lik CMON la, lik what our prime minister has said in the rally, Singapore's population is only 4million. while china's pop is 1.4billion which is about 300times of us! look at the blardy ratio! oh my tian ah! all the more we should encourage getting more foreign talents in, in order to make this tiny puny SINGAPORE to be MORE SIGNIFICANT on this Earth. That's the reality. We have to depend on others to be more prominent. Speaking of those chinaplayers in Singapore team, look at Li Jia Wei! she came to singapore 13years ago! more than a decade! and the fact that she has been here for so long, this means that Singapore has play a big part and role in grooming and training her as a world athlete representing us. i mean lik she wasnt THAT good thirteen years ago? but look at her now! shes becoming a prominent figure along with her team mates wang yue gu and feng tianwei in this world! and now, efforts go to who? so what if ppl claim that Singapore sort of lik "buy" her over and shes obliged to win something for us? okay on this point of view, i agree to a small extent only.. Obligation is one thing, but willing to so called "betray" china and instead represent singapore in olympics, isnt that worse enough? and whats more? they actually played against CHINA in the finals, having to face pressure from both singapore and china on the actual ground. feng and Li grew up in BEIJING, not sure abt wang yue gu... those from china confirm with criticise them what.. if we were in their shoes, imagine the kind of torment, stress and pressure coming from both countries. i really salute to them, for fighting till the very last moment, accept this defeat graciously and not sore about it. lets wait for next olympic then, i believe that they will perform even better than today.. was quite disappointed with li jiawei when she kept hitting the pingpong ball out, can see that thats nt her usual standard. feng is only 22 years old and this is her first time participating in olympics.. its considered a very gd effort from her and well sportsmenship shown... feng looks quite "zai", her skills are rather good, slightly better than li jia wei... lol.. wang yue gu is kinda old alr.. probably tats her last olympics.. lol.. she looks older than her actual age.. hahaa shes only 27 la, but look lik an auntie -_-

PHELPES is fucking gooddddd... omggggg hes dam hot la!! :DDDDD afternoon was spent on watching the bronze play-off women table tennis between korea and japan.. and im so fucking glad that korea won, cuz those jap women look so fucked up can? zzzzzz... i super lik Kim K. A. from korea.. she rocks... Phelpes is one hot dude in swimming.. another one is Li Jia wei!!! :DDD omg, imagine how much money they gonna get after earning a silver medal.. wah lao.. really dun dare to imagine can... -_-

oh! i spent my late afternoon downloading band songs from imeem.. found some great songs and shared with gino.. hopefully can help him to choose more variety of songs for upcoming fiesta and syf!! was looking thru all the music files i have in my comp.. quite alot sia and i didnt even noe la -_- listened to tkband actual recording for syf07... and i got so emotional about it =((((

i guess the love for music in that band is not there anymore.. we have a few "star" players in the previous batches.. but look at the band now... i seriously dun wanna pin point on any batches... as i listened thru the recording, i could visualise the actual scene in SCH that day.. we were so nervous with the lights shone upon us. my heart was beating at the rate of dunno what.. all pairs of eyes were fixed on us, the so called "best band in the land" for outdoor comp. and when azlan held up his baton, and the first note sounded from the perc. we played safari for set piece. and holy shit, i kinda screwed up the solo..it was the small mistake ive made during the transition of fingerings from concert D to Eb to E.. dam stupid rite? i also dunno why, my fingers were really frozen, numb and stiff.. as we played thru, more mistakes were made... and finally safari ended.. at that point of time, all of us knew that we lost half the battle alr.. that was so not the best perf at all.. everything was just not in place. but still, that little glowing fire was still within us, in our hearts.. azlan smiled, assuring us that we are fine and not to worry. BUT NO.. i know that gold is nowhere near us already.. and once again, we began on the second part of this arduous journey. All of us having the same sensation, hoping to play well for Godspeed to gain some marks back, and also to prove that we arent that bad for indoor. the flourishing and blooming effect of first part for Godspeed! began! and yes, we sounded quite alright on the expression and bringing out the dynamics.. but one great mistake we have made.. we were too eager to win it back till we lost focus.. tempo was slightly faster than usual, perc played wrong notes on the chimes all the way for first part... and ya wth man! when it reaches the trumpet section to play their soli for that particular rhythm, they were not able to pitch the notes and tempo just suddenly went Slower because of them.. articulation was not there too.. months and months of practice for that phrase just went down to drain. every single note we played was the last time ever for this competition. now i ask myself if i ever did enjoy playing and creating music that day, my answer will just be a NO. back to what i was saying.. the slow portion was kinda out of tune. and its so expected. Tuning for this portion was not done much, the only thing we practise so much on is the expression AGAIN and the phrasing of notes.. zzzZZZZZZ... was quite pissed abt that, but there isnt nth much i can do, at least i did try my best to tune the notes for this section whenever i have time during sectionals. arghhzzz.. it was dam wasted... okay then it comes to my solo again.. honestly speaking, i wasnt feeling that nervous as compared to other solos i used to play... kinda weird la.. i was just feeling sianzzz and probably abit of eagerness to just finish this whole journey ASAP.. solo was okay.. above average.. better that what i expected since its during comp. but tuning was abit out.. was disappointed for that only... everything ended after that 8 bars of Godspeed! solo... all my time and effort was spent just for this solo, didnt kinda regret... and yea, the last part was kinda well played.. we were more steady by then but it was too late... tooo too late.. chimes finally played the correct notes... everybody started playing and move tgt as one band. Everything sounded well till the very last note which echoed through every single corner of SCH. it was the last note that really made ppl have the goosebumps effect. The end for syf2007.

While waiting for results outside, majority expected that we will clinch a silver only. i was feeling kinda disappointed.. but i put on a facade to assure my juniors that everything is fine, over and done with.. when the word "silver" for our band came out from lawrance siao's mouth.. wah biang.. i immediately broke down.. and im fucking sure im the one who started tearing.. cuz basically, the tearing kinda started even before the announcement of results.. lik wtf la.. im dam emo.. i knoww.. ZZZZZzzzzzzZzzz.. that feeling really sucks.. having to lose really sucks.. year 2005 syf was tat bad too.. cuz we were hoping to get gold with honours and we were so dam close to it.. in the end, we attained a high gold only =(( so theorectically speaking, i should have higher expectations for syf07 rite? but ssad to say, no.. and i said this right into my section member's faces.. dun ever dream of getting a gold with honours when all of us arent even near getting a gold.. i dunno hw they felt after hearing that.. but i assured them that if all of us do our best, getting a gold is attainable and good enough for us cuz afterall, its really not easy to be gd both in indoor and outdoor aspects. i know my character well, im super duper short-tempered... and i always scream at my section when they cant play what i want after a few times. trombones know it well since they hav sectionals rite next to mine in the hall gallery. sigh.. how emotional can that be man... but hey! Imma also screams at her section okay? its not just me.. i realise that ppl from tkband are normally short-tempered and gets frustrated easily at small little things. probably thats the culture, cuz we are always gettting scolded, punished, screamed at by our seniors.. and the sort of scolding is not the type lik "why cant u just do it? why? do it again!" its not the sort of tone lik encouraging type.. but its the type lik they scold vulgarities and really insult and suan u to the max.. on top of that, the punishment they gave to us.. omfggggggggggggg... run and run and run dunno hw many rounds after band prac.. and its a must to run finish the number of rounds on that day ONLY and nobody cares whether u need to rush off or yr parents waiting for u blah blah blah... bnad always end at 7.30-8 because of these.. during sec one, we always kena from the sec fours scolding us on the field when we just merely turn our heads BUT standing still la! its not tat we are bad disciplined and tats y we turn our heads.. but imagine standing right in front of the band, carrying flags, standing sedia for TWO FUCKING HOURS under the hot sun, which idiot wont even fidget at all? if ur lucky enuff, nobody will say anything since noone spotted that.. but as long as u kena caught by one senior who saw u doing that, he/she will scream across the field "STOP FIDGETING STUPID SEC ONES! FIVE ROUNDS AROUND THE TECHNICAL BLOCK AFTER BAND!" and now u ppl must be saying, aiya just cheat la.. run lesser rounds and they wouldnt noe.. but sorry to say that, the senior who punishes u will stand at the third floor outside instrument room and look down at you, counting the number of rounds that you mst run before gg off.. for some seniors who are kinda linient, they let us off after a few rounds... when a sec one just entered the main block for outdoor. the VERY FIRST TIME ON THE FIELD, they alr kena scolded lik mad mad mad.. and tats true.. look at the sec ones now? they get in and mistakes made were regarded as okay since its their first time on the field.. BUT NO! seniors in the past have the mentality that if ur given the chance to be in the mainblock, this shows that u are capable and as gd as them.. ur expected to know everything once u stepped onto the field.. i swear im not lying about all these... those days were really wtf to the max.. but look at the discipline of the band now? having a TOOOOOO gd life rite as compared to ours? :)

so sometimes dun blame me for being so harsh on them, screaming at them.. demanding such high standards... without expectations and harsh treatment from us, will they even push themselves to attain the best award? NO... okay, of cuz there are some exceptions lik the more u scold that person, the more he/she wont listen to your instructions. but all i rmb is that during my days, nobody dares to obey any form of instructions and retaliate.. because its a norm to see everyone kena scolded.. it will be weird if ur the only one who starts to rebel against yr seniors.. lol.. tats how stupid we are.. :) or should i say, thats how much respect we give to our seniors? hmmmm...

i dont want to comment on the current disciplinary level of that band and also talk about the importance of hierachy... the hierachy thingy used to be dam important in the band.. no matter how gd ur as a player, u should never ever show any signs of trying to overpower the seniors whose playing is lousier than yours... if not that junior will really have a "dam GOOD" life in band..

tkband is just different from all other bands and tat includes other outdoor bands too... only tk emphasise so much on this in the past.. but now? im dunno.. neither do i wish to say anything about the band now if nt i might get into trouble :p LOL.. why should i care so much and waste so much time bloggin abt this? actually im also not sure about myself... but its just that wave of nostalgia that hit me so hard after listening to that syf recording which made me reflect so much upon all these issues.... okay im tired.. i wanna go slp.. or maybe do some other stuff.. bye ppl.. enjoy reading this entry which is rather long :)
